This short documentary was completed in 2017 by filmmakers Joseph De Francesco and Michael O'Connell. It features intimate interviews with the Painter and the only known footage of him painting.

 

De Francesco was a San Francisco-based filmmaker. Over his 50-year career, he worked as an editor and director on numerous award-winning documentary films, including the feature John Brown's Body in San Quentin Prison (2013). He was also a close childhood friend of the Painter.
